The Women’s Housing Partnership, which provides services for women who have experienced long-term homelessness, held a holiday party last December. (See “Holiday party planned for long-term homeless women” in MSR’s Nov. 24-30 issue.)
The generosity of over $2,000 in community donations was appreciated by the 43 program participants who attended the party. For many, these were the only gifts they will receive this holiday season. Pictured is WHP participant Jemette Owens holding a gift from the program.
In addition to the gifts, participants enjoyed a turkey dinner prepared by a group of women from a local church and sang along with a group of choral musicians to their favorite Christmas carols.
