This week I saw two of the state’s top 4A teams in the state. Each team, representing the girls and boys
respectively, showed why they are among the state’s best.

Bloomington Kennedy, the No. 4-ranked Class 4A team in the state, scored a 72-49 victory over Prior Lake. The Eagles, who won the state title in 2005 and finished runner-up in 2006, are led by JADE MARTIN (15.2 points per game), HEATHER BACHMAN (11.6), MICAELA MERIDETH (10.9), KENISHA BELL (10.8), and TONOIA WADE (10.2).

Hopkins defeated St. Paul Johnson (99-83) and Milwaukee Riverside (91-58) in the Eastside Showcase. The Royals, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, have used a balanced attack led by ZACH STAHL (20.0),
SIYANI CHAMBERS (16.4), DEMITRIUS MARTIN (14.6), NICK JORGENSON (10.8) and ANDRE MCDONALD (9.0).
Hopkins has captured the last three 4A state crowns.
