Donald “Bill” McMoore of Plymouth, MN died peacefully at age 90 on June 6, 2016. His father, mother, and three siblings preceded him in death.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 64 years; three sons Gregory (Heather), Daryl and Jeffrey; and three grandchildren Sean, Terrell and Courtney Baglien (Kirk). Bill is also survived by his daughter Gail Davis of Morristown, NJ; three grandchildren Jason, Nicholas and Ellisa; his nephew Edward Anderson (Sharon); his sister-in-law Carrie Flemming of Greensburg, PA; his cousin-in-law Marva Webster of Atlanta, GA; and many friends, former students and colleagues.
Born on January 26, 1926, Bill was a 1944 graduate of Minneapolis South High School, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a 1951 graduate of the University of Minnesota where he lettered in football and boxing. Bill was president of the Varsity “M” Club at the university and a 31-year employee of Minneapolis Public Schools, where he worked as a teacher-coach, principal, and director of health, physical education and athletics.
Bill was a member of the Minnesota Vikings Chain Gang for 25 years and was community relations manager for the Minnesota Timberwolves for six years. Bill actively volunteered with the South High Foundation.
Services on June 13: visitation at 10 am, funeral service at 11 am, at St. Peter AME Church, 401 E. 41st St., Minneapolis, MN.
