Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys has a new leadership opportunity – Vice President of Community Engagement; responsible for planning, implementing and championing River Valleys strategic initiatives that grow the organization’s membership to ensure it more closely reflects the rich diversity of our service area.
It is an exciting time in our council’s long history of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. The board of directors has recently approved a strategic plan that calls for the creation of new ways for more girls to access the best, and proven, leadership experience for girls in the world.
The Vice President of Community Engagement will be charged with bringing the most critical strategy – the Mentored Troops model – to fruition. This senior leader will also play a key role in the continued development and strengthening of our DEI readiness among staff, volunteers, and in our programs, and will lead other strategic initiatives called for in the organization’s FY19-21 strategic plan and ongoing
annual action plans.
IN A NUTSHELL, THE VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WILL:
- Develop, pilot and execute a new troop model titled, “mentored troops”
- Together with other leadership, external supporters and experts, and all staff, support Diversity,
Equity, and Inclusion readiness strategies and continuous improvement among staff, volunteers,
program offerings, and communications/engagement across the council.
- Provide leadership for strategic initiatives outlined in the organization’s strategic plan and annual work
