The City of Dubuque, Iowa (population 58,000) invites applications for the position of Building Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, enforcing and interpreting the City’s building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing codes and ordinances and supervising a staff of inspection, clerical, building maintenance and custodial employees. The successful candidate will possess progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience in all phases of building design, construction and inspection; graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in structural engineering, architecture, construction technology or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to follow a management style that is input oriented and values problem solving and the development of partnerships and a desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork.
