My Refuge is Humanity: Music and Poetry Celebrating Immigrants & Refugees in Minnesota

March 18 @ 6:00 am-9:00 am

My Refuge is Humanity is a concert and community event intended to unite the Twin Cities in support of its diverse communities through song, speech, and art. We will gather together as a gesture of love and support for Minnesotans whose diversity and culture have made the Twin Cities a better place for all of us to call home. Performances will span both traditional and modern works, revealing an authentic glimpse at the many cultures of Minnesota. The event will feature spoken word poetry, dance, music and choral performances of a repertoire drawn from Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East, led by conductor Ahmed Anzaldua.

This is a family-friendly event. Children are welcome but must be ticketed unless they are infants. This venue is accessible to those using wheelchairs and walking aids. Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility questions!

Additional details and event updates can be found on Facebook by searching for “My Refuge is Humanity.” The event will be filmed by SPNN and aired at a later date. It will also be available online.

Tickets cost $5 and may be purchased online at the following website: http://myrefuge.brownpapertickets.com
