More info on the State of Minnesota Procurement program:
Each year the State of Minnesota spends approximately $2 billion on goods, supplies, construction, and professional and technical services. The Office of Equity in Procurement (OEP) helps ensure the State’s spending reflects the diversity of small businesses in its economy.
OEP has a program that helps eligible small businesses compete for contracts with the State. Or, a State buyer may directly award a contract up to $25,000 to an eligible business without first having to advertise the opportunity. However, the business much meet eligibility requirements and become a certified vendor with the State. A small business may be eligible for the program if it is based in Minnesota, meets the size requirements, and is primarily owned, operated and controlled by:
· a woman,
· a minority,
· a person with a substantial physical disability,
· a veteran or service-disabled veteran, or
· is located in, or the owner lives in, an economically disadvantaged county.
