Ravens vs. 49ers an all-Harbaugh Super Bowl

 

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans braces for Super Bowl XLVII, the first Super Bowl in that city since the horrific storm Hurricane Katrina. This is the 10th time the NFL has brought the world stage of the Super Bowl to New Orleans; the last Super Bowl held here was Super Bowl XXXVI, New England 20—St. Louis 17. Much of New Orleans is not happy with the NFL, because the league came down so hard on their beloved Saints with the now-famous bounty gate scandal. Sports highlights, plus banished words of 2012

Two members of our MSR sports experts’ panel recently released their 2012 best sports stories. Nate Parham of Swish Appeal places at the top of his list the Indiana Fever winning the 2012 WNBA championship. “I think Tamika Catchings [the finals MVP] has done so much for women’s basketball…throughout her career. I think the entire women’s basketball world was rooting for her to win a championship. People are comparing it to LeBron James [winning his first NBA title this year].”

Vikings survive Jaguars 26-23 in overtime

 

Victory is so sweet, especially when you work hard, change your approach to everything you do, and things just work out. Sunday the Vikings were looking for a fresh start after a miserable 2011 season when they finished 3-13. Getting players to buy into what you’re doing takes positive results. For the Vikings, it started with winning at home and finding a way to somehow start turning this program around from the depths of the NFC North. Jacksonville, like the Vikings, finished last in their division in 2011, so they looked at the Vikings as a great opportunity to get a win. Continue Reading →
