Lions roar, beat Vikings 34-24

What a difference a year makes. Last year, the Vikings, 10-6, were hungry and focused and determined to turn their program around — and they did. Adrian Peterson, the NFL’s MVP, ran for an incredible 2,097 yards while the team was 4-2 in the NFC North. In 2012, eight of the 12 playoff teams won their first game of the year. Vikings lean on Peterson in 21-14 win

The Vikings ended a two-game losing streak with 21-14 win over Chicago before 64,134 fans at Mall of America Field Sunday while the first winter storm of 2012 was pounding the area with as much as a foot of snow on the Metrodome roof. The great Adrian Peterson continued his remarkable MVP-like season. His march to glory Sunday came with 154 yards, two touchdowns, and a season-high 31 carries. The Bears later lost that game last Sunday 13-6 to the Texans and Monday night were beaten soundly on the road by the San Francisco 49ers 32-7. It’s the eighth straight time the Bears have lost at San Francisco; three of those losses have been in the playoffs. They have not been close to winning (41-0, 52-14, 44-7, 26-0, 17-0 and 44-15), and Monday night they trailed 20-0 at half before losing 32-7. Continue Reading →

At 4-1, Vikings among NFL’s best

Five weeks into the season, the 2012 Vikings remain one of the surprise stories in the NFL. Last year the Vikings, 3-13, lost several games in which they blew early leads and made mistakes that cost them. So far in 2012, Head Coach Leslie Frazier has a team that has bought into his quiet, respectful approach to coaching.
