Abuse of men draws little sympathy or funding for services



Increasingly, perception of domestic abuse broadens. It now includes abuse against men, abuse in same-gender relationships and more. This renders the Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women (DAHMW) a forward-thinking informational and support resource. The Maine-based nonprofit says in its mission statement, “[We provide] crisis intervention and support services to victims of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and their families in order to help survivors recover from the trauma.
