Ruben and Lalah play well in the Twin Cities

On a great feeling Sunday evening, Ruben Studdard and Lalah Hathaway started their 2014 tour at The Dakota Nightclub, located in downtown Minneapolis, in grand fashion!  

Although the previewing marked Ruben as the marquee, once the show began it was quite apparent that there was no specific marquee involved in this performance. They were both simply fantastic. They began the show together with a five piece band and two background vocalists, who too, were really good. During the opening, two duet ballads, the dinner crowd knew they were destined to receive an after dinner mint, that would be the most favorable they had tasted in quite some time. President Obama visits St. Paul

President Barack Obama, in St. Paul on Wednesday, reiterated his vow he made earlier in his State of the Union address in January that he will take action when needed if Congress won’t. “I’m just going to do what I can…” proclaimed Obama during a nearly 20-minute speech to an enthusiastic overflowing audience at the Union Depot in downtown St. Paul. New food choices at Timberwolves games not for everyone

 

 
Fans looking for basic fare and affordable options might just be out of luck
 

The Minnesota Timberwolves has new concessions items this season. A first-ever sampling party was held October 23 for “a mix of media and season-ticket members,” including the MSR at the downtown Minneapolis arena. This reporter however did not taste any of the new food: a male worker seemingly didn’t understand me when I asked if a simple hamburger was available — he instead pointed me to the new 1/3-pound Bar-B-Que Burger topped with pork, barbecue sauce and onion crisp. A Black female worker also couldn’t convince me to try the new “Ball Hog,” a 1/2-pound kielbasa. “The kielbasa is good,” she insisted, but to no avail. Continue Reading →

Billy Cobham’s Spectrum 40 Tour stops at the Dakota
