Steve McQueen’s newest feature is based on the true story of one man’s fight for survival and freedom, as chronicled

in the 1853 autobiography of Solomon Northup — a free Black man kidnapped and sold into slavery in Louisiana.

Their music has been sampled by everyone, from Coolio to Will Smith, to old schoolers like Cameo. Expect to hear “Shake Your Rump To The Funk,”  “Move Your Boogie Body,” “Sex-o-Matic,” “Anticipation,”  “Freakshow On The Dance Floor,”  “Hit and Run,” “She talks To Me With Her Body,” among many others.
