Where Obama’s hoodie at? Congressional Rep. Bobby Rush in March walked onto the House floor, stepped front and center, then, shedding his suit jacket, revealed a sweatshirt and put the hood up, declaring, “Racial profiling has to stop. Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum.” This, of course, to protest the mindless murder of Trayvon Martin. Rep. Gregg Harper, not surprisingly a Mississippi Republican, had a fit in purple paint. Protesting Abu-Jamal’s frame-up must not die either


Mumia Abu-Jamal will not be put to death. For all that is a relief to people with conscience, there is no reason for anyone to be grateful. He had no business being arrested in the first place, much less convicted and sentenced to die. And everybody who can tell his or her elbow from a hot rock knows it. If the name doesn’t happen to ring a bell with you, Abu-Jamal was railroaded to death row in 1981 for supposedly having murdered Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. Continue Reading →
