No Major for Tiger, no win for Vikings, no hope for Twins

Where do I go? The Majors golf season is over for another year, and no Major for Tiger. The Vikings lose 27-13 in their first pre-season game at home to Houston. The Twins are going nowhere, drifting through another losing season. Paula Deen’s favorite football player is Riley Cooper , wide receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles. Continue Reading →

Canton calls for Cris Carter!

Last Friday I was in Mankato for the start of Minnesota Vikings training camp, as I have been now every year since 1978. The Vikings have held training camp in Mankato for 48 years. And for the third straight year, the Vikings will have a player inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. On August 3, John Randle, Chris Doleman and number 80 Cris Carter will join the 50th Anniversary class of Hall of Famers. During his career with the Vikings, which included eight Pro Bowls, Carter made so many great plays and stretched the field with his ability to make the spectacular plays routinely. Ravens vs. 49ers an all-Harbaugh Super Bowl

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans braces for Super Bowl XLVII, the first Super Bowl in that city since the horrific storm Hurricane Katrina. This is the 10th time the NFL has brought the world stage of the Super Bowl to New Orleans; the last Super Bowl held here was Super Bowl XXXVI, New England 20—St. Louis 17. Much of New Orleans is not happy with the NFL, because the league came down so hard on their beloved Saints with the now-famous bounty gate scandal. Commissioner Roger Goodell should carefully go about his business this week with security watching his back. Continue Reading →

Peterson proving he’s back in a big way!

Last January during the Pro Bowl game in Honolulu, many of the players in the game signed a giant get-well card to Adrian Peterson. Lou Lampson, a buddy to the stars, organized it. He knew Peterson’s dapper was down. It was intended to let him know he was missed by the guys and they were all pulling for him. The network cameras of NBC TV zoomed in on the huge card, and Peterson, back home in Texas thousands of miles away recovering from knee surgery, saw it and was brought to tears. Continue Reading →

Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. reaps rewards for giving back

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Monday, August 27, I’m on the road again doing what I do. This time, I’m not covering a game or sporting event. As many of you know, my oldest son Larry, Jr., NFL star with the Arizona Cardinals, has done many good things on and off the field. Two weeks ago, he was named the 2012 NFL Arthur S. Arkush Humanitarian Award winner. Celebrity Fight Night, the annual charity event held by Muhammad Ali, presented Larry, Jr. an award as well. Continue Reading →
