The illusion of racial progress

What appears to be racial progress in America is largely an illusion. Martin Luther King, Jr. is honored for his great contribution to the struggle for human rights and social justice in America. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968 when he was organizing a national campaign to bring the issues of poverty to the attention of the political establishment of the United States. In his 1967 book Where Do We Go From Here?, he urged us to struggle against racism, capitalism, and militarism and to strive to create a beloved community based on moral values and human dignity.
