Johnson prep star now playing for Arizona State

Former Johnson High School basketball star ROOSEVELT SCOTT is on the 2014-15 men’s basketball roster at Arizona State University. The 6’-4” Scott, who last year averaged 17.5 points per game for Indian Hills Community College, led his team to a second-place finish in the NJCAA Division I national tournament and a 33-4 record. He was also named to the all-tournament honors

While at Johnson, Scott teamed with ESTAN TYLER, now at the University of North Dakota after two years at the University of Missouri-Kansas City; MAXIE ROSENBLOOM, who just finished an outstanding career at Bemidji State; current Missouri State University guard MARCUS MARSHALL, JORDAN PLUFF, XAVIER HENRY, DANTE WARLICK, DEMITRI CONWELL, ANTHONY LEE, CHRIS SMITH-BOND, XAVIER BLACK and PRINCE WILLIAMS to lead the Governors to the Class 3A state championship in 2010. Scott did not take an easy path to ASU. First Annual All Star Classic a success






BRIAN SANDIFER wanted to reunite the young African American boys’ basketball players who made the mark in the metro area over the past decade. The former football/basketball standout and Saint Agnes graduate (1986) did just that by holding the First Annual All Star Classic at Concordia University last Sunday afternoon.
