Have we become more politically astute where education does not count? There appears to be more persons appointed as department heads etc. in many jobs when they don’t have any training and/or education in the particular fields.
It seems to be more of a political appointment rather than selecting some of our qualified young people for the given positions, who could get the job done. Many of these young people are qualified, well educated and resourceful, with good common sense.
If education does not count as well as knowledge in the chosen field of discipline, then why not appoint a carpenter to be the department head of the open heart surgery department at the Mayo Clinic. The carpenter knows how to cut straight lines. Oops!
Intelligence is knowing what you can do and what you can’t do.
