Alan Karzel Wade of Minneapolis, MN, born July 29, 1953, passed away at age 62 in the presence of his beloved companion JoAnn Dobbins on January 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Pearl Wade; son Karzel Alan Dobbins; sisters Sylvia Cobb and Claudia Coley; and brothers Cornell and Edward Wade.
Alan is survived by his loving family: daughter Kea (Tommie) Scarver; son Andre Dobbins; grandchildren Tyteanna, J’Carrae, Cemya, Sadrea, Cahja’lay, Sade, Angel and Ke’ommi; sisters Doris (Alfred) Sloan, Geino Robinson, Lyndale Wade, Maria Wade-Thomas, and Veronica (Olusegun) Amos; brothers Donald and Jelford Wade; and many nieces and nephews.
Alan was 16 years old when he moved to Minneapolis from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He joined the Sabathanites, a Minneapolis youth drum and bugle core, in 1969, serving as lead drummer from 1970 to 1972. Alan worked for Honeywell for 28 years.
He will be remembered by all for his twinkling eyes, joyous laugh and charismatic smile that filled a room with liveliness. Alan enjoyed life to the fullest his way and will be missed by all who loved him.
Memorial Service at 2 pm Wednesday, January 27 with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior at Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 W. Broadway, Crystal, MN.
