Jovon Perry was recently selected as director of the Minnesota Department of Human Services Children and Family Services’ Economic Assistance and Employment Supports Division.
In her new position, Perry manages the Minnesota Family Investment Program, Diversionary Work Program, Refugee Program Office, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Food Stamp Treasury Offset Program while leading staff in improving outcomes for Minnesota families with low incomes, and working with counties, tribes and communities to help families achieve economic stability.
“I’m confident Jovon will lead the division well, with children and families’ best interests and well-being at heart,” said Jim Koppel, Children and Family Services assistant commissioner. “I look forward to working with her as we move forward with improvements to promote the well-being of children and the self-sufficiency of families.”
Most recently the senior program manager for the Minnesota Family Investment and Diversionary Work Programs, Perry has been responsible for managing policy, program development and performance management functions for Minnesota’s welfare reform efforts.
