CHICAGO — The first half of Monday Night Football’s (MNF) Vikings vs. Bears game was football to snooze by. It was the debut of Chicago rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky, the Bears’ number-two overall pick in the 2017 Draft.
The Vikings have their own issues with QB starter Sam Bradford, who played for the first time in almost a month — apparently he has a clause in his contract that he only starts on Monday nights.
Bradford was brilliant in the Vikings’ MNF opener vs. New Orleans. He was injured in that game three weeks ago, and Monday night he returned and started. He was awful: 5-11 for 36 yards and sacked four times.
He led the Vikings to a 3-2 lead at half. But he may have also re-injured his left knee. Back-up QB Case Keenum gave the Vikings a much needed spark in the second half and helped steer the team to victory. With the 20-17 win over the Bears, the Vikings are now 3-2. They take on 4-1 Green Bay on Sunday.
