This week’s photo focus is on former metro-area prep basketball stars Amir Coffey (Hopkins), Kenisha Bell (Bloomington Kennedy), and Gabe Kalscheur (DeLaSalle). Coffey, Kalscheur and Bell are making major contributions to the University of Minnesota’s women’s and basketball program’s respectively.
Coffey, a 6’8” junior guard, is averaging 15.3 points per game for the Gophers with a season high of 32 against Nebraska. He recently reached the 1000-point plateau.
Bell, a 5’9” senior shooting guard who recently reached the 2000-point career mark, is averaging 18.9 points per game with a season-high of 28 against Rhode Island.
Kalscheur is averaging 15. 3 points per contest. The 6’4” freshman’s season-high is a 25-point effort against Santa Clara.
