Center Karl-Anthony Towns and guard Andrew Wiggins each scored 25 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves—despite erasing a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to send the game into overtime—fell 100-98 to the Denver Nuggets last Sunday evening at the Target Center.
Towns tied the game with a three-pointer with 42.5 seconds remaining in regulation. But Nuggets center Nikola Jokic hit the game-winner with 2.4 seconds remaining to provide the margin of victory.
Nikola led Denver (7-2) with 20 points, Jamal Murray had 15, and Paul Millsap added 14 while Garry Harris and Will Barton chipped in 13 apiece.
In addition to Towns’ and Wiggins’ effort Josh Okogie added 17 points for Minnesota (5-4) Jarrett Culver chipped in 10 and Treveon Graham contributed nine.
