Police accountability organizations and community groups across the Twin Cities will come together in peaceful but powerful protest to demand the four former Minneapolis police officers who killed George Floyd be jailed immediately.
“There is plenty of probable cause to arrest the men who murdered George Floyd” stated Michelle Gross, President of Communities United Against Police Brutality. She added, “These men are a danger to society. If this murder had been committed by members of the community, they would be sitting in jail right now awaiting trial.”
The community is also demanding that Governor Walz use his powers to appoint a special prosecutor not affiliated with the Hennepin County Prosecutor’s office or the Attorney General’s office because we have no faith in these agencies to vigorously prosecute police officers, given their past failures.
