From the presidential races and most recently, reparations bill HR 40 reintroduced by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee, the topic of reparations for Black people in the U.S. continues to be a hot-button issue.
The discussion has heated up as now as President Joe Biden was challenged to support the idea recently. And a new movement called ADOS (American Descendants of Slavery) has sparked debate about who among Africans living in the U.S. are actually entitled to reparations.
On Thursday, February 25 at 6 pm, MSR ForeFront will host a conversation on U.S. reparations featuring Dr. Jared Ball professor of Communication Studies at Morgan State University; Jon Jeter veteran journalist, freelancer, and commentary writer; and Thandisizwe Chimurenga Los Angeles-based freelance writer, commentary writer, and activist.
To join the conversation, visit the MSR Facebook page.
On February 4, MSR Forefront discussed reparations from a local level, with guest St. Paul City Councilmember Jayne Price and activist Trahern Crews. Find that conversation here.
