Senior opposite hitter Stephanie Samedy and sophomore outside hitter Jenna Wenaas led the way with 11 kills each as the No.9-ranked University of Minnesota volleyball team defeated the University of Maryland (13-1) 3-0 last Sunday for their second consecutive Big Ten victory.
The Gophers are undefeated in Big Ten action with a 2-0 record.
Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Landfair had eight kills and two blocks, junior middle blocker Ellie Husemann had nine blocks and eight assists, and senior defensive specialist CC McGraw had 15 digs for Minnesota.
Samedy has led the Gophers in kills in eight of their 10 contests.
