All-Star candidates Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Anthony Edwards were not present for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 108-103 victory over the Boston Celtics (16-18) Monday evening December 27, 2021, at the Target Center but Jaylen Nowell, Nathan Knight, Jaden McDaniel, Malik Beasley, Greg Monroe, and Jordan McLaughlin were each playing a pivotal role in the triumph.
Nowell led with 29 points in one of the best games of his career, by a powerful dunk in the fourth period. Knight had 20, McDaniel added 17, Beasley chipped in 15, Monroe, who hadn’t played an NBA game in two years, finished with 11.
