A Night at Club Gold 1946: An Evening of Hot Jazz and Cool R&B Music

The Gamma Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. invites you to “an evening of hot jazz and cool R&B music” in celebration of its seventy-five years of distinguished service to Minnesota. Local musical luminaries and Dakota favorites Ginger Commodore, Thomasina Petrus, T. Mychael Rambo and Sanford Moore pay tributes to jazz legends Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington and others from the 1940s. The evening culminates with MPLS, a popular R&B local band, taking attendees on a musical journey of popular contemporary music. Order dinner and drinks, reminisce on the music of yesteryear, enjoy the sound of today’s music, while supporting a great cause with old and new friends in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
