Code Switch — Work on Ideas for the Community
October 15, 2022 @ 10:00 am-5:00 pm

CONNECT & CO-CREATE CHANGE
We believe every person has a role to play in solving our community’s toughest problems. Code Switch is an opportunity to do just that.
Code Switch is a civic ideathon in which community members work on data and technology projects to create positive change.
Techies AND non-techies are welcome — entrepreneurs, artists, educators, developers, business professionals, and concerned residents. Projects can use coding, data, storytelling, and more! Ideas and solutions can be proposed by anybody (yes, anybody). You don’t need a detailed plan, only a desire for change.
This year’s theme is Revisioning Access, Advocating for Our Rights, focusing on issues of:
Voting rights
Healthcare access
Broadband access
JOIN US FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT
On October 15, participate in Code Switch from anywhere! Attendees will hear from civic leaders on how we can shape the future of civil rights and access.
After the kickoff conversation, participants will join breakout rooms with subject matter experts on each of the core topics. You’ll be invited to brainstorm project ideas and connect with others who share your interests. As ideas emerge, you can form teams and outline project goals in DemocracyLab, an online civic hackathon platform.
Throughout the day, you will be supported by mentors with experience in skills like data science, design, and research. By the end of the day, your team will be invited to present your idea and compete for opportunities to develop it into a full-fledged project.
