Frogtown Tuned-In Voices Amplified Fundraiser
November 14, 2022 @ 5:30 pm-9:00 pm
$25
Frogtown Tuned-In, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
operates WFNU-LP Frogtown Community Radio, has announced its second annual fundraising event,Voices Amplified, which will celebrate a year of community impact, recognize its 60 volunteers, and highlight the organization’s program accomplishments.
This fundraising event has a goal of raising more than $15,000 to cover monthly
expenses for the next six months in addition to helping keep community radio on air and
streaming worldwide.
Frogtown Tuned-In trains community members in radio broadcasting, using technology,
interviewing, podcasting, and editing, all free of charge. The goal is to be a platform for
creativity and knowledge as well as a place for volunteers to build career skills and radio
experience.
The organization’s focus is to amplify the diverse voices of Frogtown in connection with
surrounding communities, creating content and programs that inspire both adults and
youth to take back narrative control from mainstream media as well as helping showcase
typically marginalized voices.
WFNU is proud to partner with Black Market Reads, a project of The Givens Foundation
for African American Literature. Uplifting the voices of Black authors, this podcast is
produced by iDream.tv and features insightful conversations with award-winning
novelists, poets, thought-leaders, and playwrights – from hometown heroes to national
stars. The Givens Foundation remains the only organization in Minnesota exclusively
dedicated to advancing and celebrating black literature and writers.
