We WIN Institute, the Racial Justice Network, Zion Baptist Church, and the Jerry Gambles Boys and Girls Club invite you to the annual Harvest Festival.
These trusted community organizations are coming together to give thanks for another year, put the garden to rest, celebrate culture, and create a community around literacy while sparking the joy of reading in our children.
The arboretum will have apples and pumpkins, the University of Minnesota will be offering flu shots, and food will be provided by Pimento Jamaican Kitchen.
Also, kids can enjoy a bouncy house, and Nothando and Vusi Zulu from the Black Storytellers Alliance will share stories. All activities are free and open to the public, with food, books, music, dancing, and storytelling.
Daniel Bernstrom, award-winning author of “Big Papa and the Time Machine” will be reading his book, which will be given away as a keepsake.
The annual Harvest Festival will take place from 11 am to 3 pm this Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Zion Baptist Church, located at 621 Elmwood Ave. N. in Minneapolis.
