The local hip-hop legends have partnered with popular West 7th-based brewers and Chef Mateo Mackbee to host a free evening full of top-notch entertainment, food, drink, and more for a St. Paul-centric celebration of summer.

Live band hip-hop mainstays Heiruspecs are bringing a free outdoor block party to St. Paul on August 19, 2023. Heiruspecs is proud to partner with Clutch Brewing Company for the inaugural Heiruspecs Summer Classic.

The fan-favorite hip hop crew is throwing their take on a quintessential neighborhood block party with performances from Heiruspecs, Maria Isa, and the Unknown Prophets, plus DJs, a car show that organizers say will “feature a few rides that will remind us of when cruising University was THE thing to do on a weekend,” local food and beer, and more. Heiruspecs will dial up every number in their rolodex to offer a diverse collection of cameos from legendary fixtures in the Twin Cities music scene and beyond. In addition to beer and hard seltzer from Clutch Brewing Company, award-winning Chef Mateo Mackbee (Krewe Restaurant) will bring the grills out and slangin’ some delicious eats to hungry block partiers.

“For decades, Heiruspecs has been turning up at block parties all over the place,” said Chris ‘Felix’ Wilbourn from Heiruspecs. “We’ve been looking for the right opportunity to bring our talents as a live act to a block party stage in our hometown of St. Paul. And with our community focus and energy, it only made sense to bring some of our crazy talented friends along for the ride. This partnership with Clutch Brewing Company and our friends at Krewe Restaurant allows us to bring a world-class show to the heart of St. Paul. We couldn’t be more excited.”

DJs get things rolling at 4:00 pm with Unknown Prophets taking the stage at 5:00 pm, Percussionist, singer, and Minnesota State Representative Maria Isa and her band taking the stage at 6:00. Heiruspecs rounding out the event at 7:00 pm with a star-studded performance. This event not only carries on the tradition of great block parties but also provides a summery addition to the 15+ year history of Heiruspecs hosting “Holiday Classic” events each winter.
