Little Africa Festival Online

The Little Africa Festival, one of the largest African Immigrant Festivals in the country, will take place online September 20–24, 2020. Last year, 12,000 people attended a celebration of the very best of African Immigrant culture. This year, the festival will be raising funds for African Immigrant-owned businesses affected by COVID–19. For five nights African Economic Development Solutions (AEDS) and Little Africa will stream music, dance, poetry, and interviews from African Immigrants throughout the Twin Cities. In addition, AEDS will be promoting Little Africa in a Box, an innovative meal pick-up that will support five African Immigrant owned businesses in the Metro. Performers scheduled to appear are, Carolyn Naomi, Sagirah Shahid, Genet Abate, Kashimana Ahua, and Korma Aguh-Stuck, Innocent, Voice of Culture Drum and Dance, and more. Little Africa in a Box restaurants participating in the five-day event are Afro Deli, Agelgil Ethiopian Restaurant, Dilla Ethiopian Restaurant, Sabrina’s, and Snelling Café.
