National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID)
Inspired by the Million Man March, all day throughout the Twin Cities, parents of African American descent, are encouraged to come to their child’s school to foster an open dialogue among teachers, help address the achievement gap and provide strategies for parents and students to take full advantage of the educational process at all levels of the educational system (preschool through college). Get involved and find out what your child’s school has planned for the occasion.
End the day at the Black Parent Advisory meeting at the Davis Center at 6 pm to ask district leaders questions about the new Comprehensive Plan that will affect your students.
