Night Life: Nocturnal Worlds in African Art

September 2 @ 8:00 am-September 10 @ 5:00 pm

“Night Life” presents 20 artworks from across Africa that address how nighttime is perceived and experienced in the past, and in some cases the present. Wooden masks, headrests, and figures support contact—through dreams—with spiritual companions. With the sounds of African nightlife in the background, these artworks speak to the richness and vitality of life after the sun goes down. Admission is free. For more info, visit new.artsmia.org.
