Page Education Foundation ‘Make Your Mark’ Virtual Gala

September 16, 2020 @ 11:00 am 5:00 pm

The Page Education Foundation is hosting its 33rd annual gala with a twist by holding its first-ever “Make Your Mark” Virtual Gala.

Founded by former Minnesota Viking and Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page and his wife, Diane, the Page Education Foundation supports and inspires students of color by providing them with a Page Grant when they graduate from a Minnesota high school and attend a Minnesota post-secondary institution.

In 32 years, the Page Education Foundation has provided over 7,750 grants to students known as Page Scholars. They have, in turn, provided more than 500,000 volunteer hours while fostering positive mentor relationships and encouragement as role models for more than 50,000 Minnesota children.

The “Make Your Mark” Virtual Gala begins with an exclusive sneak peek of local singer and songwriter Annie Mack’s brand-new album and opening of an all-day silent auction. A live, hour-long program starts at noon that will feature a conversation on race and education in Minnesota with panelists Justice Alan Page and Page Scholar Alums Dr. Artika Tyner and Michael Walker. Alene Tchourumoff, senior vice president of community development and engagement with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, will serve as moderator.

Virtual gala attendees will also have a chance to play “Surprise Boxes,” the online version of the gala’s popular Mystery Box game. They will learn about Justice Page Beer, a new purple and custom-crafted, sour-Berliner Weisse-style beer brewed by Back Channel Brewing Co., as well as how to receive a limited edition growler emblazoned with the Page Education Foundation logo. For wine enthusiasts, partners at Solo Vino and North Loop Wine and Liquor have curated a special package featuring Miner Family red, white, or rosé wines. And kids of all ages will have an opportunity to “Make Your Mark” with a virtual kiddy corner featuring a bevy of online activities to create and color.
