We are pleased to announce the UNIQUELY EAST SIDE FESTIVAL 2023, a community-centered street festival that celebrates all the diverse communities who call the Eastside their home. Residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy:
* art exhibitions in a walkable street gallery format
* visual artworks and spoken word readings from a children & youth art contest
* live music
* a street-side vendor market
* interactive youth and community activities
* delicious specials at local eateries (‘Taste of Payne’)
The UNIQUELY EASTSIDE FESTIVAL seeks to combine the best of the traditional Harvest Festival Parade and Celebration and the more recent Solidarity Street Gallery Festival that took its place with the outbreak of COVID. The intent of the UNIQUELY EASTSIDE FESTIVAL is to bring together the entire community for an enjoyable and uplifting experience for the entire family while at the same time fostering cultural, artistic, entertainment and business renewal to the Payne-Phalen neighborhood, and creating new retail and service opportunities for local makers, craftspeople and entrepreneurs.
The UNIQUELY EAST SIDE FESTIVAL 2023 is sponsored and led by ESNDC (Eastside Neighborhood Development Company), in conjunction with the ‘Payne Arcade Uniquely Eastside’ initiative, and in collaboration and partnership with a good number of local arts, entertainment and community organizations as well as businesses along the Payne Avenue corridor. Financial support is provided by a grant from MRAC (Metro Regional Arts Council) as well as several local business sponsors. Details on partnerships and sponsorships will be announced in the next couple of months.
