Iargene Burney was born to Sandy and Carrie Burney in Racine, Wisconsin on June 25, 1926. He was one of eight siblings and preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald E.W. Burney and James W. Burney, his sisters Carol Burney, Gertrude Burney, and Beverly Burney, his daughters Deborah Tolhurst and Tina Gatewood; and his son Iargene Burney Jr.
He is survived by his sister Ernestine Burney-Connor and brother
Richard Burney, his daughter and caregiver Cherril Burney, his sons Salvador Burney and Eugene Holmes, and a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota 4343 Nicollet Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55409 from 1 pm-3 pm, Saturday, June 27, 2020.
