AALF, Phyllis Wheatley launch MN Black Community COVID-19 Hotline

.

With the number of positive COVID-19 cases continuing to rachet up in Minnesota and across the nation, two community organizations have stepped up to assist African Americans who have been disproportionately impacted by the virus.

The African American Leadership Forum (AALF) and Phyllis Wheatley Community Center (PWCC) are working together to help Minnesota’s Black community navigate available resources and services needed to cope with the Health & Wellness, Economic Development, Education, and Family & Culture impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MN Black Community COVID-19 Hotline is fully staffed and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide callers with important info about where to find assistance for pandemic-related challenges and concerns, including but not limited to:

  • Virus testing sites
  • Support for virus protection measures (i.e. reusable cloth masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning supplies)
  • Resources that support food security, physical & mental health
  • Employment opportunities and/or information about unemployment assistance
  • Info about housing and childcare services
  • Legal rights info and/or legal services

To get your COVID-19 questions and concerns answered today, call the hotline at 612-254-1145.
