Africans dominate the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon took place Sunday, October 4, beginning in downtown Minneapolis and finishing at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Abraha Serkelam Bise of Ethiopia won the women’s race in 2:31:40, and Dominic Ondoro of Kenya won the men’s race in 2:11:16.
This year’s event made more headlines than usual prior to the race due to possible disruptions by the St. Paul-based Black Lives Matter group that threatened to demonstrate near the finish line. Members of the group were present at the event and did demonstrate, but did not disrupt the race.
