Ava DuVernay continues to offer unflinching critiques of the U.S. justice system with this mini-series based on the true story of the infamous 1989 case of the “Central Park Five” — five Black teens falsely convicted of raping a White woman jogging in Central Park. This four-part series lays bare the horrors of the justice system and has renewed public outcry against Linda Fairstein, the prosecutor-turned novelist who oversaw the case.
