It was a good start for the University of Minnesota women’s basketball team as a senior shooting
guard Gordiva Hubbard scored a team-high 17 points leading the Golden Gophers to a 78-33
exhibition victory over the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles on Sunday, October 31,
at Williams Arena.
Junior guard Sara Scalia and junior forward Kadiatou Sissoko had 13 apiece for Minnesota,
senior guard Deja Winters and junior point guard Jasmine Powell each chipped in nine.
Powell scored all her points in the first half while efficiently running the Golden Gophers’ offense
and showcasing her defensive skills as well.
