MNsure is celebrating another record-breaking year for health insurance enrollments, with over 150,000 Minnesotans already securing coverage for 2025. From November 1 to December 18, 151,098 individuals signed up for qualified health plans through MNsure.org, marking a 14% increase in private health plan enrollments compared to the same period last year.
“We are thrilled with the continued success and growth of MNsure,” said MNsure CEO Libby Caulum. “Each new sign-up means another Minnesota resident is gaining access to essential health care, and many are doing so while saving money. It’s rewarding to see the impact of our work in connecting people to the health coverage they need.”
Increased Savings and Expanded Affordability
As part of the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced federal tax credits, Minnesotans who sign up through MNsure can expect to see substantial savings. Eligible families will save an average of $561 per month, which translates to more than $6,700 in savings over the course of the year. These savings make health care more affordable for families, and with premiums capped at 8.5% of annual household income, Minnesota residents can continue to find plans that fit their budget.
“MNsure’s goal is not just to offer insurance, but to make that insurance more affordable for all,” Caulum added. “With more Minnesotans qualifying for financial assistance, it’s clear that we are making a real difference in people’s lives by offering comprehensive, cost-effective coverage.”
More Time to Enroll for 2025 Coverage
Minnesotans still have time to enroll for health insurance coverage for the upcoming year. The final deadline for 2025 health plan sign-ups is January 15, 2025. Consumers who enroll between December 19 and January 15 will have their coverage begin on February 1, 2025.
MNsure’s network of certified brokers and navigators are available to assist individuals through the enrollment process at no cost. These trained professionals are available for in-person, phone, and virtual appointments, providing free, personalized help in a variety of languages. No Deadline for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare
Minnesotans who qualify for Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, or who are members of federally recognized tribes are not subject to the open enrollment deadlines and can apply for health insurance at any time throughout the year through MNsure.org.
