An Unforgettable Evening with Sheletta Brundidge
This year’s gala is hosted by the incredible Sheletta Brundidge, a powerhouse media mogul, talk show host, and activist for Black-owned businesses. Recognizing the lack of diversity in traditional media, Sheletta took matters into her own hands in 2020 by founding SHElettaMakesMeLaugh, a trailblazing multimedia platform featuring BIPOC experts.
Through podcasts like JET Setting Divas, Life After Loss, and DR Verna’s Virtues, Sheletta has created a space for stories that matter. Beyond her work as a commentator on TPT’s Almanac and a WCCO Radio host, she’s become a social media phenomenon, public policy advocate, and a voice for small Black businesses. With her background in journalism, comedy, and activism, Sheletta brings energy, insight, and humor to every stage she graces.
Electrifying Performance by Fanaka Nation
The evening will feature a dynamic performance by Minneapolis’ own Fanaka Nation, a rising star in the local rap scene. Known for blending Hip Hop with African and global sounds, Fanaka Nation has created a unique genre he calls “Afrotrap,” as heard on his hit album Culture Rap 1: AFROTRAP.
From touring with Soulja Boy to selling out legendary venues like First Avenue’s 7th St Entry, Fanaka Nation is a force to be reckoned with. Performing under the independent label Kilimanjaro Records, his music is more than just entertainment – it’s a movement that embodies cultural fusion and innovation.

Early bird tickets for the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition’s Annual Fundraising Gala are on sale now. Tickets are $55 until February 9th and will increase to $65 on February 10th.
