Overview:
A free Know Your Rights training on April 11 in Minneapolis will equip community members with practical information about their legal rights during police stops, ICE encounters, evictions, car accidents and wrongful termination.

The Minneapolis NAACP, YWCA Minneapolis, Urban League Twin Cities, and Robins Kaplan LLP are hosting a free Know Your Rights training designed to equip community members with clear, practical information about what to do during common but high-stress situations.

The event takes place Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Urban League Twin Cities, 2100 Plymouth Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411. It is free, open to the public, and includes a free lunch.
Attendees will learn about their rights in situations including being pulled over by police, being stopped by ICE, receiving an eviction notice, being involved in a car accident, and being unlawfully fired from a job.
With communities across the country navigating an increasingly complex legal landscape, organizers say the goal is to make sure people have the knowledge they need before they find themselves in one of these situations.
