This weekโ€™s Significant six photos features images of players for the Minneapolis South boys basketball team, who, in case you missed it, made their second Class 3A state tournament appearance in three years.

The Tigers, co-city champs, Twin Cities champs, and Class 3A Section 3 champs, had a season that no one saw coming.

ย ย ย ย Behind the outstanding play of Jumair Wright, Ramadan Ibrahim, Ridwan Ibrahim, Chad Robertson, Deโ€™Amontre Scott, Jake Dixon, and Laviance Gales, South made it to the consolation round.

Their season ended after a 69-66 loss to Mankato East. They lost 90-56 in the first round to eventual champion Totino-Grace.

Not a bad season for the Tigers and head coach Joe Hyser.
