Correction, June 29, 2026 4:11 pm: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the Black Lives Matter fists on Chicago Avenue were moved from their original location on the first day of construction. In fact, construction crews worked around the fists for more than a week and the city did not move or touch them. The fists were later relocated by their caretakers to Peoples Way. The article has been updated to reflect the accurate account.
