Two of Minnesota’s finest, Nasir Whitlock of DeLaSalle High School and Tessa Johnson of St. Michael-Albertville were recently named Mr. and Miss Basketball last week.
Since the first Mr. Basketball award was given in 1975, 19 of the 45 winners (42 percent) have been African American.
