Marvin Haynes was wrongfully convicted of first-degree murder in 2005, but after a petition and a review of the evidence, his conviction was vacated in 2023, leading to the passage of new laws in Minnesota to prevent deceptive interrogation tactics and lift the statute of limitations for post-conviction relief.
