The girls’ basketball state tournament was certainly one to remember. BRIANNA WILLIAMS, NIA COFFEY, SYDNEY COFFEY, EBONY LIVINGSTON, MIKAALA SHACKLEFORD, TT STARKS, JULIA WEIMER and GRACIA HUTSON led Hopkins past Eden Prairie, led by AUBREY DAVIS, JACKIE JOHNSON, SHAYNE MULLANEY and MORGAN VAN RIPER-ROSE, 67-45 for the Class 4A crown.
DeLaSalle won the 3A championship by defeating Hill Murray 63-43 behind the outstanding play of ALLINA STARR, MARIAH ADANENE, TYSEANNA JOHNSON, LATANZA BRITTS, CHANEL DICKINSON, JOI JONES, SAMANTHA DORNSBACH and CLAIRE THOMAS.
Minnehaha Academy, led by SARINA BAKER, KATELYN ADAMS, GABBI STIENSTRA and ANDREA SCHARF, lost to Braham 68-61 in the 2A championship game.
ONYE OSEMENAM, ALEXIS LONG, MADISON LEE and MIKAYLA PAYNE helped Maranantha Christian Academy to the 1A title with a 59-52 win over Nicollet.
RACHEL BANHAM, APIEW OJULU and HANNAH HUGHES led Lakeville North past White Bear Lake 68-50 in the 4A third-place game, while KHADIJA SHUMPERT, GRACE COUGHLIN and JOSIE DILLON did the same for Benilde-St. Margaret’s, leading them to a 3A win over Alexandria 54-51.
