OKAFOR (Champlin Park), ZACH LOFTON (Columbia Heights), MARCUS ALIPATE (Bloomington Jefferson), MARQUEL CURTIS (Robbinsdale Armstrong), and TEREZ VAN PELT (Osseo) were among the selected participants in the annual Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association All Star Game held last weekend.
In the championship game, played at Macalester College, JAKE WHITE (Chaska) scored 23 points, leading the Green team to a 136-108 win over Gold.
Singleton had 18, TOM SCHALK (Apple Valley) added 17, MATTHEW BOROWICZ netted 14, JORDAN SMITH (Orono) and RYAN SHARP (Sebeka) chipped in 12 apiece, while McNeal and Van Pelt added 10 each.
BRYAN SPRANG (Irondale) led Gold with 22 points. COLE OLSTAD (Plainview-Elgin-Millville) added 16, and Jenkins and MARK BLACKLOCK (Winona) chipped in 11 each.
Maroon defeated Blue 123-121 in the third-place game. Brown led the way with 29 points. Lofton scored 16; El-Amin, Curtis and JAMESON PARSONS (Eagan) added 11 each; and SHELBY MOATS (Waconia), SHANE HENNEN (Minneota) and Scott each had 11.
Travis led Blue with 20, Tyler and Okafor had 19 apiece, KURT MOODY (Pequot Lakes) had 14, VAUGHN THADA (Owatonna) chipped in 13, and SETH HINRICHS (Maccray) had 10.
The first round of the tournament was played at St. Cloud State University.
